Staffing FAQ

Alpha Staffing

Q & A

Why use a staffing agency?

Filling out applications takes a lot of time. With a staffing agency, you fill out one application and we take it from there. Also, many of the jobs that we offer are not advertised elsewhere. Companies trust Alpha Staffing Services to do the work of hiring for them, so they don’t create traditional job postings on sites such as Indeed. Best of all, it costs you nothing to use our employment services!

Where do I begin?

To apply, simply fill out an application online or in person at one of our offices. From there, we will review it thoroughly to see if it matches any of our requirements.

What is the hiring process like?

After you fill out an application, we will ask you to our office for an in-person interview. This gives us an opportunity to learn more about you, especially your work history and what kind of job you are looking for. After all, everyone wins if you find the best possible job for you. Also, we will ask you to take a number of assessments that gauge basic office skills, which is typical of employment agencies. Many of our employers look for office workers, for example, so having a good idea of how fast you can type or how computer literate you are will aid your application.

Additionally, we will provide a safety training course, help you complete any paperwork that confirms your eligibility to work in the United States, and assist with any drug or background checks required by our employers.

How do assignments work?

There are two types of assignments. The first of these is a temporary placement, which can last from a day to a few months. Though you go to work at the employer’s site, you are technically considered an employee of Alpha Staffing Services. That means that while you will take instruction from your site managers, we will be the ones actually handling your benefits and paychecks.

On the other hand, some of our companies like to use us to directly hire employees. In that case, typically after a short probationary period, you will become an employee of the company in question, rather than us.

How do I get paid?

Simply record your hours on your timesheet, have it verified by the company that you are working with, and submit it to us. We will then handle your payment. Of course, if you are directly hired by the company, they will handle your compensation.
